I am appalled that our educators would entertain the idea of supporting enrollment of "illegal imigrants" in our colleges. What message are we sending our students simply by the fact that we seem to be ignoring that these students are "illegal".Is this word not in the college vocabulary?

In North Carolina we have 11% of our residents unemployed. This means that their children may not be able to afford to attend college, especially with tutions being raised all over the country. What we are being told by your action is that the TAX PAYING, citizens of this state are being overlooked and illegal immigrants are being given priority. The only motivation for your university may be that the government is making it worth your while. Not suprising ! Your decision will affect this state and its residents for years to come. Something you and your committee will have to live with.

Sincerely,

Mary Ann Hardy, RN and student
