H.36 will require E-Verify and will dramatically help prevent illegal immigrants from getting new jobs in North Carolina. Our state unemployment rate is 9.7%, so why should illegals be allowed to get jobs which belong to citizens?

NC L – H.36 E-Verify bill passed key committee in NCGA
Concerned Citizens and Immigration Reformers,
H.36 HAS PASSED THE JUDICIARY A COMMITTE AND NOW MOVES FORWARD FOR A VOTE ON THE NC HOUSE FLOOR.
H.36 will require E-Verify and will dramatically help prevent illegal immigrants from getting new jobs in North Carolina. Our state unemployment rate is 9.7%, so why should illegals be allowed to get jobs which belong to citizens?
H.36 was heard in the Judiciary A committee on Wednesday and I spoke in favor of it along with ALIPAC, NC Fire and Randy’s Right. About 15 of our associates also attended, and I thank them for their service to our cause. A Hispanic group and the ACLU spoke against H.36 and they said they were worried about American workers?? Does anyone believe that line. The Hispanic group, outside the hearing, suggested that I was a racist because I was promoting H.36. The American people are becoming sick of these kinds of attacks. Name-calling has become the desperate attempt of those who have no good arguments for their position, and somehow think they will frighten us. This only emboldens my resolve.
H.36 was not voted upon until a hearing yesterday and I was there again beforehand and for the hearing. H.36 was favorably approved, after a second committee action last evening.
Regards,
Ron Woodard
Action Alert! Deny NC Government Services to Illegal Aliens
Concerned Citizens and Immigration Reformers,
NC Senate bill 205 “No benefits for Illegal Aliens” would deny government benefits to illegal immigrants. Who wants to see their hard earned dollars going to provide Government services and benefits to illegal immigrants?
****TAKE ACTION with this simple message for now ********* CALL OR EMAIL N.C. Senate Leader Phil Berger —- tell him to move NC Senate bill 205 out of the Rules Committee and move the bill forward. NC Senate Leader Phil Berger’s office phone number is 919-733-5708. His email isPhil.Berger@ncleg.net
TAKE ACTION TODAY! THIS IS IMPORTANT. WE NEED A LOT OF CALLS AND EMAILS.

DREAM Act Amnesty goes down to defeat
GREAT NEWS!!
With the U.S. Senate vote Saturday, the bad Dream Act Amnesty has been defeated. Sen Harry Reid could possibly attempt some other sleazy or slimy tricks before the lame duck session of Congress ends, but I don’t think it would get traction. Our opponents fell five votes short.
This is a big deal as it stopped a major amnesty and gives unemployed citizens some level of hope, since several million illegal immigrants won’t be granted the legal ability to get jobs.
Our work is not complete in any sense, but let’s take satisfaction in our Victory. And let’s remember to thank our two U.S. Senators from North Carolina, Sen Richard Burr and Sen Kay Hagan for voting against the Dream Act. More to follow on that.
And certainly a BIG thanks goes to those of you who worked to defeat the Dream Act. It was very close in the end, and the difference became the effort by Patriots who got involved and took action.
A special thanks goes to NumbersUSA and their staff. We at NC LISTEN focus on what we can do at the state level while also supporting the larger national immigration reform groups. I truly believe the Dream Act would have passed if not for the organizational work of the staff of NumbersUSA, who have personnel in Washington, DC to monitor and closely follow events and gave us the info and tools to help defeat the Dream Act along with other statewide immigration reform groups around the nation.
Again we have much more work to do, but for now, lets savor our Victory.
