This petition is by, and on behalf of, the citizens of these United States and more specifically the legal residents of the State of North Carolina. WE are opposed to allowing illegal aliens to attend or enroll in our North Carolina Community Colleges and the University of North Carolina [16 multi-campus system].

To allow illegal aliens to attend our state community colleges in order to acquire a job, given the high unemployment rate of citizens, is beyond obscene.

Our NC Community Colleges and University of North Carolina system need to focus on the educational needs of citizens, not those illegally in the USA. It is against federal law to aid and abet those illegally present in America by assisting them to remain here. It is against the law for anyone to hire those illegally present in America.

Persons illegally in the USA but wishing to attend college can return to their native country and attend college, and subsequently acquire employment there.

WE also insist our state college and university officials require all those enrolling to be checked via the federal government's S.A.V.E. [Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements] System to make sure only legal residents are admitted. The S.A.V.E. system was put in place for the very reason to assist state and county officials.

WE demand state legislation be passed in 2010 when the NC General Assembly convenes to prevent illegal aliens from attending or enrolling in our North Carolina Community Colleges and the University of North Carolina [16 multi-campus system]. In addition the aforementioned S.A.V.E. System must be mandated by statute to make sure only legal residents can attend. The cost of administering the S.A.V.E. System for this purpose can be covered by charging more to those who attend our state-supported institutions who are foreign students but legally present in the USA.
