Immigration reform and Obamigration
The US Department of Justice admits it hasn’t completed its review of the Arizona immigration law, but has decided to sue the state of Arizona. This is not surprising since Janet Napolitano [head of the Dept of Homeland Security] and US Attorney General Holder said they had not read the Arizona bill in the first place when both condemned it. John Morton, the chief of ICE [Immigrations and Customs Enforcement], first said ICE would not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona law enforcement, but recently restated (after pressure from many members of Congress) that ICE would process illegals in Arizona but on a case by case basis [which sounds like former President Clinton's definition of "is"].
A couple of weeks ago US law enforcement agents were chased from the border by the Mexican military. Would Teddy Roosevelt or Dwight Eisenhower have allowed this to go unanswered? The national media has reported that several National Parks and Wildlife Refuges within Arizona are so dangerous because of illegal immigration and drug smuggling (to include foreign nationals growing marijuana on US federal lands), they suggest Americans stay away from these US public lands. Also these federal lands are so covered in litter and garbage, it is a national disgrace.
The sad fact is this has been going on for over eight years, dating back to George W’s administration. It seems dealing with illegal immigration got in the way of stopping cheap foreign labor, and so border enforcement was inadequately funded and staffed. I attended a FAIR event in 2003 in which Kris Eggle’s mother spoke to us about how her son [Kris] was gunned down by Mexican drug cartel members. Kris had been an Eagle Scout, valedictorian of his High School, a college graduate, and President of his class at the Enforcement Training Center and serving as a US Park Service Ranger, when he was murdered in 2002 at the age of 28.
I have a News and Observer article, dated 12-29-02 in which Mexican nationals were commiting 46 per cent of drug trafficking in Wake County. Drug trafficking is not just a Mexican issue, but illegal drugs are still overwhelmingly coming to America from south of our border. And I have an article “Park’s Pot Problem Explodes” by the Los Angeles Times stating in May, 2003 that drug cartels south of our border were bringing drugs into America through our federal parks and these cartels had financial ties and links to Hezbollah to include human smuggling operations. I have media reports from that time right up to now and the question becomes WHY IS THE U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ALLOWING THIS TO GO ON? ANY WHY WOULD OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PLAN TO SUE THE STATE OF ARIZONA (in effect citizens of Arizona will be paying to defend the state) for simply trying to enforce the law by mirroring federal laws and procedures?
I think that immigration reform in the Obama Administration [aka Obamigration] has become an abomination.
