Mexican President Lectures USA on Immigration

Concerned Citizens and Immigration Reformers,

President Calderon of Mexico spoke before the US Congress last week and attempted to lecture the State of Arizona for its recent immigration law.  He suggested it was racial profiling and continues the insinuation that America needs illegal immigrant workers.  We obviously don’t need illegal workers, and the Arizona bill does not use racial profiling.   Our federal government leadership wouldn’t know, since I don’t believe we have found anyone in leadership to include our Attorney General and head of DHS who has read the 10 page bill yet.

Interestingly enough, it is a felony to be an illegal immigrant in Mexico, and one is jailed if found to be illegal and even if one has committed no other crime.  If we had the immigration laws of Mexico and their method of dealing with it, we would have many less illegal immigrants in the USA.   The Mexican government has given out pamphlets on how to effectively cross our borders, and President Calderon says we need to partner on efforts at the border.

What we need are 20,000 U.S. soldiers on our border.  Next we need to require businesses to use the simple on-line E-Verify System to make sure illegal immigrants cannot be hired in the USA, and then fine those who knowingly hire illegal immigrants.  We need border AND interior enforcement such as E-Verify and the 297g program expanded to use local police to assist [as in Arizona] to enforce immigration laws.   In North Carolina there are about 25 counties now either using 287g or the sister program, Secure Communities.

WE are pressing for more action in North Carolina as well as at the federal level.
