Push for action at the NC General Assembly
Concerned Citizens and Immigration Reformers,
There are several actions to take this short session of the NC General Assembly (state legislature) which affects us, our children, and our fellow citizens.
State Legislation is pending to stop the NC Community College Board from giving our children’s seats to illegal immigrants in our state Community Colleges. Moreover our state needs to be focused on training unemployed citizens in our state Community Colleges, NOT training illegal immigrants for better jobs. Gov Bev Perdue’s response has to been to reactivate the Governor’s Advisory Council on Hispanic/Latino Affairs for 3% of the population which is legally in North Carolina.
There is also a State Senate Resolution to allow relaxing the rules during this short session of the NC State Legislature [normally to work on budget matters] to allow an Arizona-like Bill to be introduced in the NC General Assembly. This is a long shot because this resolution has been sent to the Rules Committee, the normal place legislation is sent when the Democrat leadership [the majority in power in the NC Legislature and who controls what moves forward] wants legislation to die.
We are also pursuing any angle to get E-Verify back in the light and require any business in North Carolina with over 5 employees to be required to use E-Verify to prevent illegal immigrants from working in North Carolina. We will start with businesses with over 5 employees for now. E-Verify is an on-line federal database available to determine if one’s employee is legally present in the USA. It takes about two minutes to check new hires and costs less than $1.00 per employee to check. A small price, I would suggest, to help put citizens back to work and make sure new jobs only go to legal residents. Our state has already borrowed over $1.3 billion [yes billion] from the federal government to pay unemployment insurance claims to out-of-work citizens.
More to follow on specific actions to take.

everyone needs to contact their rep and insist this be tackled during the short session
We need to initiate a system of FINES for any business not using E-Verify or equivalent means to verify employment! Also, what gives an ILLEGAL immigrant the right to ANY benefit (including education) that you and I have struggled to pay for all our lives?
I am SOOO sick of ‘Press 1 for English or 2 for F$#@%^&! Mexican’
